I BEAT THE CURVE! For all those who are familiar with the law school experience, you understand.
THANK YOU JESUS!! The grades are finally posted and I performed successfully. My labor was is never vain. This is for the people who were there during the dark times this year. If I forgot anyone in my thank you video, please forgive me. You are very much in my heart. Mommy, James Elumogo, Shannon Chiles, Vincent Parker, Section 1, my favorite professors, Hudson County Bar Association…(list goes on). It was Love that got me here and Love that is getting me through. I Love and appreciate you. Thanks for helping me accomplish this and reminding me that there is nothing I cannot do and no reward I will not recieve within the will of God. ♥
Tonight I was hit with a hand full of eggs and huge rock on my back and called “Nigger” by a white guy in the backseat of a dark blue truck as I was riding my bike on Westheimer and Jeanetta. They drove too fast for me to get the license plate number. I had to get a cop to drive me home. This night makes me wonder how blacks did it back in the day, and why the community is looking the way it is now. I am trying not to cry, but I am in physical pain from the rock and not understanding why I deserved this.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it raining out when Trayvon had his hoodie on? Let’s not get sidetracked people. The real issue here is that if justice is not done, these racist acts will likely continue. There’s evidence that Zimmerman acted as a racist before this incident. Even if the media were to water it down and call it a “mistake”, he deliberately disobeyed authority. Based on the evidence we have so far, this man’s intention was to deal with Trayvon from the time he saw him. He unlawfully directed his energy on an innocent young man who was operating within the law by simply walking with a hoodie on. Instead of doing his job and protecting the community, Zimmerman targeted this young man because of his appearance. I can already hear people complaining about black people playing the “race card” again, but..
LETS NOT PLAY DUMB
Aside from the fact that a family has lost their son and a young man’s life has been cut off prematurely, this is bigger than just the Martin family. Racism obviously still exists and it is wrong. Believe what you want to believe, but like Trayvon’s attorney said, you can’t act on it!! (It’s sad enough that it still exists). We need to recognize how this decision will affect every other young African American man (rather African American person) in American society. This country cannot afford to let this slide. I’m watching..
